Jazz In Ramadan

We are expecting you to “Jazz in Ramadan”! 

"Jazz in Ramadan", a unique festival organized by Hakan Erdoğan Productions, and which proposes the idea that social peace comes first and foremost from the sharing artistic inspiration, will feature world-renown jazz musicians from the Muslim world all through the Ramadan.

Two beautiful historic Sultanahmet venues will be the settings for eight concerts, in “Jazz in Ramadan Festival”: the courtyard of the Archaeological Museum and the gardens of Topkapi Palace.

Festival, will host world-renown jazz musicians from the Muslim world such as Ahmad Jamal, Anouar Brahem, Abdullah Ibrahim and Dhafer Youssef.

Ilhan Ersahin and Aydin Esen will be the two popular jazz musicians participating from Turkey. “Aydin Esen Plays for Ramadan’  will be Esen’s special theme for the program. These musicians who are well known by İstanbul jazz listeners, this time will reach a broader and more mixed audience and even to future generation jazz fans.
Within the festival, among jazz music, there will also be Dede Efendi. Munip Utandi who is one of Turkey’s esteemed singers of Turkish classical music will be accompanied by the Dede Efendi Ensemble in the Archaelological Museum; it will be a treat for the classical Turkish Music listeners.

In the last concert Kudsi Erguner and his group will be taking the stage. Their concert heading is ‘Islam Blues’; this will be the final note of "Jazz in Ramadan", aiming to introduce the efforts of the musicians working in different musical forms and making contributions to the world culture.

Jazz in Ramadan, which is supported by Istanbul 2010, will propose the idea that social peace comes first and foremost from sharing of artistic inspiration.

Rally of Turkey is in Istanbul…
Are you ready to enjoy a unique WRC event, that takes place on two different continents?

Welcome to Istanbul, the city that brings together the East and the West, where the history meet natural beauty, the technology meets tradition, the past meets the future and the culture meets harmony. Having being selected as the 2010 European Capital of Culture, the Organising Committee decided to move The Rally of Turkey from Antalya to Istanbul to in order to contribute to the value of both WRC and Istanbul.

In its 6th consecutive year of the Rally of Turkey will be a unique event in the World Rally Championship calendar, where our guests will be able to enjoy the two continents at the same time.

The event will get underway on Thursday, April 15th in historical Sultanahmet Square, rigt in the middle, between the famous Blue Mosque and Haghia Sophia. Before the ceremonial start, all the competitors, media members and VIP guests will enjoy a unique ferry trip on the Bosphorus, with all the rally cars are on board.

Special stages of three days will be based on the Asian side of Istanbul. Generally, the roads are fast, wide, smooth surfaced gravel and flowing as praised by ERC and IRC drivers in the past three years. The Organising Committee arranged also a unique event for the rally: A Super Special Stage at Kadikoy, Istanbul’s most modern developement on the Asian side. This stage will provide a close-up view of these 2.0 litre turbo-charged monsters whilst they blast through the stage.

Moreover for three Support Series of World Rally Championship’s (WRC), Junior World Rally Championship, Pirelli Star Driver and Ford Fiesta Sporting Trophy International (FSTi), the 2010 competition will get underway with Rally of Turkey.
